Burlap Sack Wreath
Well everyone...I found a craft to incorporate burlap in my house! I found it on one of my favorite sites at Jones Design Company! She does a amazing job giving step by step directions. I can even do it which says a lot! The total cost of the project is about $12.
Step one: Suppplies |
1. Glue Gun
2. 2 yards of burlap= $2.99 at Joanne's with a coupon
3. 10 inch Styrofoam
4. Needle, thread- This was the first time I ever threaded a needle..I know so crazy!
5. Push pins
Step 2:
1. Cut burlap in 5 strips of 4 inches by 70 inches. On her site she used only 3 strips but I added an extra one to cover the wreath. I also added an extra one around the wreath. Then use two to cover the wreath like below.
Step three:Wrapped the wreath |
1. Go to Jones Design Company to see the step by step directions to create the ruffles!
Step 5: Attached ruffles |
I love my burlap wreath! |
I hope you all enjoyed me new wreath creation!

Picture Frames
I got this idea on the this season's HGTV Design Stars "Glass House" episode. Casey took old pictures frames and removed the pictures and glass. She then spray painted them gold.
I never spray painted anything before but I wanted to try this. I found some old frames I had and tried this fun project. I sprayed painted them a Satin Aqua color by Rust-oleum! I found the paint at Ace Hardware.
Here is to my first spray paint project!
Pretty simple and now I ready to spray paint something else:)

Paper Wreath
I heart books and hung it on a old window I already had! |
Supplies:
1. Glue Gun
2. Wreath.. I used a straw 8 inch wreath for $1.99 at Michaels. On the tutorial on Jones Design Company site she used a 10 inch styrofoam wreath.
3. Used book about 200 pages
4. Ribbon
Then I began with my computer right in front of me so I can follow the directions. I'm a need directions kind of person and Emily did an amazing job posting pictures at each step for visual learners. I can't thank you enough Emily!
Here I go on my first layer:

I really don't like beer but I loved the bottle!
My brother in law was in town this weekend and we love to show off Down Town Fort Collins to our guests. The New Belgium Brewery is a great place to relax and enjoy some good beer. The problem is I don't enjoy beer but I enjoyed the atmosphere of community that the brewery provides. I also heard the tour is amazing. I saw this bottle and loved it! I asked the cashier if I could buy one without beer in it and he said, "What will you use it for?" I think it is a great vase:)
1. I loved the bike logo on it! (My husband races bikes and I just enjoy riding them)
2. I loved the vintage brown color
3. I loved the $4 price
So here was my weekend buy for $4 for our entry way table:)
Going Green Indoors with Plants!
I got inspired today thanks to The Inspired Room about displaying plants in my house. I went to Home Depot and spent $10 on 3 indoor plants. I used vases I already had at home. Here is what I came up with!
The vase was only $8 from Anthropologie!
I put an Ikea $1.99 vase in a decorative glass pail holder that I got for my birthday this year! Now I can enjoy the outdoors while being indoors:)
This vase was actually free! It was an Edible Fruit Arrangement vase we received as a gift. I added books with the covers off and a backgammon game to give the plant height.
What do you think?
